Joe Dalton – Founder
With over 8000 nautical miles of sailing under his belt and more than 15 years of experience in the financial sector, Joe has put his skills and passion into launching Salt. Having seen borrowers and boat sellers’ frustrations firsthand, Joe knew the boat buying process could be so much simpler.
Keen to see as many people as possible enjoy fun on the water, he’ll expertly guide you through the funding and share his stories of the high seas along the way.
Greg Chiappini – Chief Operating Officer
Committed to improving finance within the leisure marine space and fuelled by ambition, Greg brings a combination of legal experience and business know-how to the table. As well as his enquiring mind and extensive network, Greg’s enthusiasm for what SALT can offer consumers is infectious. Making the most of his analytical skills and ability to direct successful strategies, his role is intrinsic to the ongoing operations of the company. In the throes of completing his Yachtmasters certificate, Greg likes nothing better than to get out on the water and has recently enjoyed time with Joe visiting several yacht shows.

With over 15 years’ experience of running and managing teams of developers, Damien understands the importance of continually listening to users and improving their experience. Damien is passionate about bringing the leisure marine industry into the 21st Century.
Damien Shiells – CTO
Damien’s tech skills are second to none, and his efforts have ensured the Salt App is as straightforward to use as possible. With over 15 years’ experience of running and managing teams of developers, Damien understands the importance of continually listening to users and improving their experience. Damien is passionate about bringing the leisure marine industry into the 21st Century.
Tim Bryan – Senior Compliance Officer
Having gained extensive experience across numerous financial services, including fintech, start-ups and commercial banking, Tim’s passion is building and developing successful businesses that deliver exemplary service. The go-to person for questions around regulation, governance and risk management, his broad knowledge and reliable nature are a huge asset to the SALT team. His sterling work with Brett across the FCA business plan has been invaluable in establishing the path that lies ahead.
Elliot Bishop – Non-Exec Director
As a Non-Executive Director, Elliot is highly motivated, technically adept and someone who strategically sees the bigger picture. He is a solicitor at Bargate Murray based in Mayfair and what he doesn’t know about jurisdictional litigation relating to marine loan security for lenders is not worth contemplating. SALT are eternally grateful for his pragmatic input, laser-focussed approach and unswerving support. It is evident to us all that Elliot is the true definition of a team player.
Steve Vinall – Non-Exec Director
With an impressive track record as a consultant, advisor, coach and investor, Steve is something of a maestro at successfully building value and guiding organisational change. His involvement has been multifaceted across strategic challenges and targeted project management, ensuring SALT has grown in confidence thanks to his support. We love that Steve targets conservation projects to counter aspects of the illegal wildlife trade – go Steve!
